Internal tools for Ten-X operations and strategic partners are helpful for configuring property listings, managing offers from buyers, and much more. Since new consumer-facing features are often paired with an aspect of admin control, the system was constantly growing.

Internal user personas

Armed with data from interviews and workshops, I created personas for each of the major internal user types.

The following diagram helps us see the activity levels of the different user types across the major stages of a deal cycle.

Design: Admin Photo Manager

This project is one of many that I worked on as part of the asset management program. In addition to the general research above, each project also contained its own discovery effort.

Problem

Managing photos of property listings is a painful process with a lot of repetitive actions.

Desired Outcomes

• Simpler user flows for managing photos
• Task success of photo upload, rearrange, and remove.

Sketched multiple variations and defined key interactions

Defined user interaction model and screen mockups for photo upload, arrange, and remove. Leveraged team critiques and stakeholder feedback to iterate on design proposal.

Final designs

During the implementation phase, I worked closely with front-end engineers to define crisp UI visuals for each state.

Results

The new photo manager saw quick internal adoption, with users highlighting the drag-and-drop ‘arrange’ feature as a huge improvement over their previously offline and manual process.
